The Health Center in Southern Pines is a 176-bed licensed skilled nursing facility.  It provides 24-hour nursing care to residents from the local community as well as to individuals within the SJP continuum of care. Unlike traditional a skilled nursing facility, The Health Center is incorporates five Care Communities in one building, allowing the care provided to be focused on individual resident preferences.

What to Expect in Our Skilled Nursing

Our residents experience an exciting and unique approach to living in skilled care. Our Care Communities are designed to be smaller, intimate areas that allow our trained professional staff to provide services based on the choices and preferences of each resident. We make many choices in everyday life that we sometimes take for granted. “Should I sleep in today?” or “What am I having for dinner?” are small choices we make each day.  At the Health Center, we celebrate and honor the choices made by our residents. The quaint environment promotes socialization through residents building relationships with their neighbors. We also provide a variety of social events for our residents. Our dedicated staff becomes “extended family” for our residents and their loved ones. A relationship built on trust and familiarity naturally develops, which enhances the resident experience in receiving excellent medical care.
