About Us
Marycrest, Livonia's premiere senior housing life-plan campus, opened in Fall 2017 with all-private suites and apartments and an array of dining opportunities for residents, guests, and public. As a life plan community, Marycrest is a full-service senior campus offering assisted and independent living apartments and services as an extension of the excellent care local residents have come to expect from Trinity Health.
Marycrest is affiliated with Trinity Health, and owned/operated by Trinity Health Senior Communities, a comprehensive network of senior living and rehabilitation communities designed to serve seniors in southeast Michigan.
Our history at a glance
- In 1947 the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph sponsored the St Mary’s Home for the Aging in Detroit Michigan. Later, the name would be changed to Marycrest Manor.
- When the Fisher Freeway was constructed, the home was moved from Detroit to Livonia in 1960.
- In 2012 Marycrest expanded from skilled nursing and assisted living to include Independent Living, with the addition of Marycrest Heights.
- In 2013 the Franciscan Sisters of St Joseph transferred Marycrest to Trinity Health Senior Communities, who continues to run the not for profit community today.
- 2016 brought further renovations and expansions, including a new chapel.
- In fall 2017, new suites and apartments as well as numerous dining opportunities became available at our community.
