A Great Place to Call Home
Arts & Entertainment
Music and the arts are celebrated in Livonia. For music enthusiasts, the Livonia Symphony Orchestra has been going strong since 1973 and offers a full concert series and special events including the classics, Broadway and movie musicals. If museums are more to your liking, the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation is one of our residents’ favorites. And if it’s a bit of culture you fancy, the Trinity House Theatre always has a full calendar of shows.
Restaurants, Delis & Coffee
Whether you’re a self-professed “foodie” or just like to dine out, Livonia is not short on delicious restaurants. When we say you’ll find all your favorites here, we’re talking the absolute best corned beef hash at Ram’s Horn Restaurant and the addictive chicken parm at Luigi’s Trattoria. If it’s a perfectly marbled steak you crave, Flemings Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar will be on your favorites list. For the early risers, Anastasia and Katie’s Coffee Shop & Café smells divine and the pastries are…let’s just say you won’t stop at one. If you’re hungry, Livonia will feed you!
Outdoor Recreation
The City of Livonia has more than 1,389 acres of recreational open space in which there are 60 parks (36 developed and 24 undeveloped). Perfect for fitness enthusiasts and nature- lovers, Livonia offers miles of nature trails, public golf courses, an archery range, tennis courts and pools, and just about every sporting field/facility imaginable. The state-of-the-art Jack E. Kirksey Community Recreation Center offers every amenity under the sun from aerobics to pools to a fitness hub with training equipment and more. If it’s an active lifestyle you’re looking for, it’s all here within reach.
Unique Retail
Laurel Park Place is Livonia’s premier mall. Between anchors Von Maur and Parisian, the mall has more than 70 specialty shops and restaurants – you’ll be able to find anything you need there. And you’ll be able to get your steps in! The Town Peddler Craft and Antique Mall is a shoppers' paradise. From collectibles to handmade gifts, it’s such a joy to wander through. Anita’s Cardsmart will become your go-to for unique gifts and cards – perfect for holidays and birthdays. If it’s the freshest of meats, cheeses and produce you love, Busch’s Fresh Food Market not only has all that, but their wine and beer selection is impressive to say the least.
"I was glad to learn that The Lakes Restaurant at Marycrest is open to the public, and the food is very affordable."
