Glacier Hills Memory Care
Glacier Hills' former memory care program, Eva's House, followed the The Warchol Best Abilities Care ModelSM. In our new Long-Term Assisted living, we follow the Anam Cara Model, which provides a "Soul Friend" to residents with dementia. This model has a more patient-centered care approach, with med techs also providing patient care. In result, residents experience a higher level of care with a lower staff to patient ratio of one med tech to 5-6 residents.
All "Soul Friends" in Long-Term Assisted Living receive frequent dementia care training. They train to notice if a resident is struggling cognitively or emotionally or if they have signs of an infection, such as an upper respiratory infection, UTI or skin breakdown. Staff will also provide activity stimulation to enrich residents' days, currently guided by the CDC due to COVID-19.
