National Recognition
Choose to live at one of the BEST senior communities in the country!
In 2017, The Alverno was recognized nationally at the highest level by the American Health Care Association with the Gold Quality Award. The Alverno was the first in the State of Iowa to achieve this recognition and joined an elite group of senior communities across the country. Today, The Alverno continues to serve its community by providing enriched long-term living, skilled nursing and rehab, and memory care options designed to promote independence, safety, socialization and overall well-being.
The Alverno's quality journey began long before the organization achieved the Gold Quality Award. Since the organization began, quality care and services have been at the forefront of their mission. The Alverno has worked closely with many colleges as well as the University of Iowa and has served as a training site for numerous CNA, nursing, administrative and therapy students. In 2003, The Alverno achieved the American Health Care Association's first quality level – the Bronze award. This was the first step toward their journey to gold and one that would take them through numerous steps to put processes and strategies in place to position them as one of the best communities in the nation. In 2010, The Alverno earned the Silver Award, the second level of achievement for the American Health Care Association. Once this level was achieved, The Alverno would progress each year, refining their processes and systems until they earned the Gold Award in 2017. The journey to Gold helped shape the culture and environment that is in place today and positions the organization to be successful for years to come.
