A Great Place to Call Home

From football excitement at The University of Notre Dame to leisurely walks along the winding St. Joseph River to all the shopping and dining you could ever imagine, South Bend is chock full of places to go, things to do, and people to see.

Restaurants, Delis & Coffee

If it were up to us, we’d have dessert BEFORE every meal! And with the dozens upon dozens of bakeries and coffee shops in South Bend, it would be very easy to do! We recommend The Ragamuffin. But we’re also surrounded by steakhouses, pizza shops and taco joints. If you like breweries, wineries and distilleries, guess what? We have loads of them, too. Try Barnaby’s or Howard Park Public House. From cozy, quiet dining gems to bold and bright eclectic restaurants to the best outdoor dining patios ever, no matter what you’re craving, you’ll find it a stone’s throw away.

Outdoor Recreation

If you were never one for the outdoors, you soon will be. South Bend is home to dozens of parks with amazing hiking paths, fishing holes loaded with unlucky fish, and manicured golf courses awaiting your first hole-in-one.

The crown jewel of South Bend, Potato Creek State Park, centers around 327-acre Lake Worster. For the active, this is the place to kayak, hike, bike and fish. For the dreamers and wanderers, it is absolutely the most breathtaking and relaxing oasis, and a premier spot for bird watching.

Unique Retail

shopping

Whether you’re a bargain hunter, a boutique browser, or a mall walker, you’ll be happy to know: it’s all right here! From University Park Mall and Heritage Square to Council Oak Antiques to the Satori Boutique, you’ll go home wondering how you accumulated so many bags! Of course, we also have all the usual staples: Walmart, Meijer, and Sam’s Club, but we also have the South Bend Farmer’s Market – where you’ll never leave empty handed.

Arts & Entertainment

With nine Performing Arts & Theater destinations, you’ll always have a reason to dress up and go out for a little razzle dazzle. A few of our residents' favorites are the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, Shakespeare at Notre Dame and the Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Show. For those feeling lucky, we have not one, but two casinos! And for those looking for a lazy afternoon cultural stroll, the Snite Museum of Art and the South Bend Museum of Art are wonderful destinations. South Bend is the perfect place to discover a love of theater and the arts.

Always a pleasure to visit St Paul's. A very relaxing atmosphere, a courteous staff, and the residents are friendly.
