Welcome to More at Saint Mary Home
History and Mission
From its beginnings in 1880 as a farmhouse on the fields of Terry Farm purchased by the Sisters of Mercy for the purpose of establishing a home for the disenfranchised, Saint Mary Home in West Hartford has grown to be recognized as the premier skilled nursing care community and faith-based residence in the greater Hartford region. Through the years, it has expanded and adapted its services to meet modern realities; however, it has maintained its Mission to be a compassionate and transforming healing presence.
Mission
We, Trinity Health, serve together in the spirit of the Gospel as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within our communities.
Vision
As a mission-driven innovative health organization, we will become the national leader in improving the health of our communities and each person we serve.
Our Core Values
Leadership
“At Saint Mary Home, our team strives to make each resident feel comfortable, safe, respected, cared for, and empowered. Our goal is to allow residents to be independent and engaged to the very best of their individual abilities. We provide high-quality compassionate care, we welcome residents’ families and friends to visit and to join us in birthday, holiday, and other special celebrations, and we focus on holistic wellness. We know that socializing with their neighbors, attending spiritual services in their own faith traditions, and participating in brain games and other therapeutic recreation activities is very meaningful for our residents. We want that for them and we make it happen.” -- Rachel DeMaida, administrator
