Trinity Health Senior Communities’ Emma Duquette Named 2023 National Nurse Leader

The National Association Directors of Nursing Administration (NADONA) is pleased to announce Emma Duquette as the 2023 winner of the Nurse Leader of the Year Award.

Emma is Regional Director of Quality and Risk Management for Trinity Health Senior Communities. A former Director of Nursing, she has served as a Tri-State NADONA Chapter President. She is a Registered Nurse and holds a Master of Science degree in Nursing.

According to Stacey Johnson, DNP, Chief Nursing Officer for Trinity Health Senior Communities: “What sets Emma apart is her unwavering commitment to quality of care and compassionate services for our residents. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she stepped in to lead during incredibly challenging times. She was a strong presence, supporting residents, staff, and families. When COVID outbreaks began…she did not hesitate to put on her PPE and jump into work on COVID neighborhoods in the role of nursing assistant, nurse, server, and/or housekeeper. She did whatever it took to ensure residents were cared for. She is a role model for how a nurse leader should conduct herself.”

Emma received the Nurse Leader of the Year Award at NADONA’s 36th National Conference held at Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld in Orlando, FL June 27, 2023.
