Your Life Your Way at The Ryan Homes
History and Mission
In November 1969, William A. Ryan bequeathed property to the Archdiocese of Detroit to be used “in such construction projects for the care and benefit of the elderly” in order to reflect the “deep and abiding affection and esteem” he had for his son, Francis, who predeceased him. Reverend Monsignor Wilbur Suedkamp founded the Francis W. Ryan Senior Citizen Homes in 1975 through the William A. Ryan Trust Fund. In the early 2000s, the Archdiocese asked Trinity Health to invest capital into the infrastructure of the Ryan Homes and manage their operations. Today, Clinton Villa, Maple Vista, Marian Oakland, Marian Place, Maryhaven, and Villa Marie remain true to the vision William A. Ryan and Reverend Monsignor Suedkamp had for creating safe, comfortable, affordable homes where older adults thrive. They are a testament to Trinity Health Senior Communities’ Mission to serve as a compassionate and transforming healing presence.

“The building at Marian Place is nice and the staff is excellent. The folks that live there seem very happy and they have a lot of activities going on. I would recommend this to seniors looking for a nice senior apartment.”
