Saint Luke's Home

Independent Living with 24-hour Assistance

If you or a loved one need assistance with the activities of daily living yet don’t require the services of a skilled nursing facility, Saint Luke’s Home may be an ideal choice.

As a residential care facility – also called a rest home – Saint Luke’s Home provides the best of both worlds. Our residents can enjoy their independence, and they have the structure and reassurance of around-the-clock assistance from a professional nursing and support staff, if they need it.

We also offer respite care for elders, providing temporary relief for their regular caregivers.

What Saint Luke’s Home is Like

Located in Springfield’s beautiful historic district, Saint Luke’s Home is a real home for its residents. The grounds include lovely gardens that the residents help to maintain.

Inside, all rooms are private, and residents may decorate them with personal items and furniture, or use furnishings we provide. A spacious activity area and large dining room provide areas for socializing with fellow residents, and a serene chapel offers a quiet space and time for devotion and reflection.

With its urban location, Saint Luke’s home is within walking distance of libraries, museums, churches, parks and shops – enabling residents to take advantage of the many resources the city has to offer.

We offer a wide range of social and recreational activities that provide engagement and opportunities for self-expression. Reflecting residents’ interests, these activities include discussion groups, coffee hours, festive parties (including an annual prom), exercise classes, a theater group, painting classes and picnics on the grounds.

In addition, we have frequent outings to stores, libraries, museums, restaurants, concerts and sporting events. Our full-time activities director has obtained scholarships for residents to take classes at nearby museums. Others volunteer at a nearby animal shelter.

Saint Luke’s Home also has a Residents’ Council led by elected representatives. All residents are encouraged to participate and make suggestions during the council’s regular meetings.
