Life in Athens, GA

Athens is located in northeast Georgia about an hour east of Atlanta, and is the home of the University of Georgia. Athens is one of the nation’s quintessential college towns, with a lively restored Victorian-era downtown bustling with shops, dining, and nightlife. The city’s population of 102,000 swells on Saturdays during the fall, as nearly 93,000 people pack into Sanford Stadium on the University of Georgia campus to cheer on the Georgia Bulldogs. Atlanta is just 70 miles away, and the scenic north Georgia mountains are just a short drive up Highway 441. To learn more about Athens, see http://www.visitathensga.com/
