The Alverno features beautiful grounds, overlooking a natural prairie. Inside, you'll find comfortable common areas just right for small gatherings and family visits. Enjoy reading a book in our library, playing a game of cards in the activity room, or sitting back and listening to familiar sounds in our music room. Classes, clubs and events make socializing with others easy and fun. Onsite entertainment appeals to a wide variety of interests, and worship opportunities are available to nurture the spirit. 

If you enjoy getting out and about in the community, you’ll enjoy participating in our weekly bus outings to area businesses, events and activities. Our residents enjoy going out to eat at a variety of restaurants, visiting botanical gardens and nature centers. The Alverno's warm, welcoming environment promotes overall health and well-being. Our dining room features chef prepared, fresh foods to nourish the body, while our chapel offers services and support to nourish the soul. Animal friends are important at The Alverno. Our resident cats, birds and fish are in our community for the enjoyment of our residents and their guests. For those who enjoy soaking up the sun or listening to birds, our courtyard and patio offer the perfect place to relax and unwind. A walking path connects to our courtyard offering serene views of the adjacent prairie. 

Fresh Food Pledge

We are dedicated to providing only the freshest of meals to our residents. Our menus receive resident input and are developed by a certified dietician. Special diets are available as ordered by your physician. Our menus rotate on a five week cycle and change each spring and fall.

Commitment to Community

The Alverno has been a strong presence in the Clinton community for over 100 years. The organization's commitment to giving back provides opportunities to offer support groups, education, training and community service. The Alverno serves as the site for the local Alzheimer's Support Group. In addition, The Alverno provides education and training to both the community as well as other local organizations. Giving back is important to both the residents, as well as colleagues at The Alverno. As an organization, The Alverno has participated in numerous service projects, benefitting individuals locally, as well as around the world.
